| MR26 Mods / DIAGRAMS |

1) This shows the factory configuration with a single antenna lead to the circuit board
2) This shows the traditional MR26 Mod with a ground/shielding wire run to the ground on the circuit board and the addition of an external antenna. In effort to isolate the unit from noise, the MR26 circuit board is removed from its original plastic case and mounted in an aluminum project box from Radio Shack. Also the shielding wire in the Mac serial cable is grounded to this metal chassis. A large bore hole is drilled in the box chassis, to which a plastic panel is screwed. In this panel the F connector for the external antenna is mounted- totally isolating the antenna from the box.
3) Using the configuration from #2, both antenna leads are removed from the MR26 circuit board and soldered to a copper wire which is wound 3-4 times around the rf coil and glued.
